roseway Basecamp

Marc came to me after noticing declining bookings for his Portland Airbnb, Roseway Basecamp, along with guest feedback that the space felt sparse and unfinished.

Rather than investing in a full remodel, we focused on a strategic interior refresh—using biophilic design principles to create warmth, identity, and a stronger connection to place.

Inspired by Marc’s experience hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, we brought the outdoors in through layered, nature-driven elements and thoughtful styling. The goal was to create a simple, grounded environment that feels both personal and inviting to guests.

Key updates included:

  • Creating a custom gallery wall using Marc’s Pacific Crest Trail photography
  • Reworking the layout to improve flow and add a functional dining area
  • Installing a forest mural to introduce depth and an immersive natural backdrop
  • Softening the seating area with a velvet slipcover for added texture and comfort
  • Painting walls, stairs, and railing for a clean, cohesive foundation

This Portland Airbnb redesign demonstrates how small, budget-conscious changes can dramatically improve both the guest experience and overall aesthetic—resulting in a warm, cabin-inspired retreat rooted in biophilic design.
